The adventures and achievements of the Apollo 8 astronauts inspired the all-black ceramic Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon. It is the mystique of Earth’s night light and its ever-changing yet constant presence that inspired the Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon “Black Black”. This 44.25mm model features a polished and brushed black ceramic case, a matte black ceramic dial and a black ceramic clasp on a black-coated nylon textile strap. The model’s nickname is given by the brushed black moon-watch-style hands and black applied indexes. All indexes are coated with black Super-LumiNova. The familiar subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock are also matte black, and the black ceramic bezel features a black lacquered tachymeter scale. At its heart is the OMEGA Co-Axial 9300 caliber.
