In tribute to OMEGA’s legacy of space exploration, the Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon features a 44.25mm case in polished black ceramic. The polished bezel is also made of black ceramic and features a Liquidmetal™ tachymeter scale.
Beneath the sapphire crystal front is a ceramic dial that has been laser-blasted and features a small seconds hand at 9 o’clock and a 60-minute and 12-hour recorder at 3 o’clock. The hour and minute hands, as well as the beveled indexes, are black and filled with black Super-LumiNova. The central chronograph hand is painted red, giving it a distinctive look.
The hand-wound OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 9908 is visible through the caseback and features a special “black edition” finish, featuring a matte black main plate and bridges, and black lacquered engravings. The watch is worn on a black rubber strap with a lunar-like surface on the underside, a ceramic folding clasp and ceramized titanium springs.
