Speedmaster Dark side of the Moon

The legendary OMEGA Speedmaster, which participated in all six moon landings in history, is a true icon of space and OMEGA’s pioneering spirit. This 44.25mm model celebrates the Speedmaster’s history aboard the Apollo 8 mission with a blackened movement that is laser-etched to the main plate and bridges to represent the lunar surface. The near side can be seen through the skeletonized black anodized aluminum dial, while the far side can be seen through the caseback.

The watch is presented on a perforated black rubber strap with a yellow rubber interior, is entirely made of black ceramic and features lacquered yellow chronograph seconds hands and a laser-engraved tachymeter scale on the bezel, which is filled with white enamel. The small seconds subdial (patented) also features a grade 5 titanium hand in the shape of a Saturn V rocket. This 3D shape is obtained by laser turning, while the colors are obtained by white lacquer, ablation and laser blackening.

The specially decorated movement is the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 3869, while the case back is engraved with the inscriptions "APOLLO 8, DEC 1968", "DARK SIDE OF THE MOON", "WE LL SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE" and "CO-AXIAL MASTER CHRONOMETER".
