The Pilot's Watch Automatic 41 TOP GUN Mojave Desert features a meticulously crafted 41mm case made of sand-colored ceramic. The color of the "Mojave Desert" ceramic is inspired by the flight suits worn by Navy pilots and the desert landscape surrounding Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, home to the Navy's most experienced pilots. Technical ceramics undergo a complex and highly sophisticated manufacturing process. It begins with powdered raw materials that are shaped into preforms known as "green bodies" and then machined to approximate the final geometry. The next step is to sinter the body at high temperatures in a furnace. During this thermal process, the ceramic acquires its unique properties, such as extreme hardness and scratch resistance. The distinctive earthy khaki hue is achieved by mixing zirconium dioxide with other metal oxides in a precisely defined mixing ratio. The muted brown dial features a minute scale and muted-tone numerals, which are coated with Super-LumiNova® for excellent readability in low light conditions. The Pilot's Watch Automatic 41 TOP GUN Mojave Desert is powered by the IWC Schaffhausen caliber 32112, a robust and precise automatic movement with a 120-hour power reserve. The watch is fitted with a beige rubber strap with a textile insert and a titanium pin buckle. The case back is made of titanium and is engraved with the iconic "TOP GUN" logo.
