In 2016, IWC Schaffhausen returned to the roots of the Big Pilot's Watch and gave it a subtle facelift. The 52110 calibre, manufactured by IWC Schaffhausen, combines some of the greatest achievements in watchmaking. It is equipped with an efficient Pellaton automatic winding system with parts made of black or white ceramic. It uses two cylinders to create a 7-day power reserve. The display at "3 o'clock" shows the time remaining until the movement stops. The Big Pilot's Watch has a date display at "6 o'clock" and a central seconds hand, which is essential for any watch used for flying. The 46-millimeter case, which is water-resistant to 6 bar, encloses an inner case made of soft iron that protects the movement from magnetic fields. The watch also features a striking conical crown. The legendary Junkers JU-52 aircraft is engraved on the caseback of the Big Pilot's Watch. This model comes with a black calfskin strap that complements the watch perfectly.
