It was with this maritime heritage in mind that OMEGA launched the Planet Ocean series in 2005. The stylish models still pay homage to OMEGA’s diving watch heritage today. This 43.50 mm stainless steel model features a white ceramic dial with applied orange Arabic numerals and a date window at 3 o’clock. The orange ceramic unidirectional bezel features a diving scale filled with liquid ceramic and Super-LumiNova. Other features include a screw-down case and a striped orange, grey and white polyamide NATO strap with a polished stainless steel buckle and strap holders. The watch is water-resistant to 600 metres and has a helium escape valve. At the heart of this watch is the OMEGA Master Chronometer calibre 8900, which is visible through the transparent caseback. To obtain Master Chronometer status, it passed 8 rigorous tests set by METAS (Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology).
