It was with OMEGA’s maritime heritage in mind that the brand launched its Planet Ocean line in 2005. The stylish OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Master Chronometer Chronograph pays homage to the heritage of OMEGA watches. This model, with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, features a black ceramic dial with Arabic numerals and a date window at 6 o’clock. The dial is dominated by a small seconds sub-dial and a sub-dial with minute and hour hands for intuitive reading of elapsed time. The ceramic rotating bezel with a Liquidmetal™ diving scale stands out on the 45.5 mm steel case. The watch is certified by the Swiss metrology institute METAS. In practice, this means that each piece of the watch is individually tested in different positions, temperatures and magnetism. Under all these conditions, the watch must demonstrate its antimagnetic resistance of 15,000 gauss, a given water resistance, a power reserve, and a maximum deviation of 5 seconds per day, which is currently one of the strictest limits.
