The IWC Pilot's Watch Chronograph Staffel 11 IW3891-12 was launched in 2025 as a limited edition of 250 pieces dedicated to Fliegerstaffel 11, the Swiss Air Force's fighter squadron. Founded in 1925 and currently based at Meiringen Air Base, Staffel 11 operates F/A-18 Hornet fighter aircraft and is a full member of the NATO Tiger Association, an alliance of squadrons whose emblems feature tigers and which meet annually for "Tiger Meets." These meetings are known for their solidarity exercises and aircraft adorned with the distinctive tiger stripes.
The 44.5mm case is made of black zirconium oxide ceramic and is complemented by a titanium caseback engraved with the Staffel 11 emblem. The black dial features a subtle tone-on-tone tiger stripe motif, subtly referencing the squadron’s heritage within the Tiger Association. Yellow accents appear on the small seconds hand at 9 o’clock, the numerals on the date disc and the chronograph pushers – a colour often associated with the Staffel 11 squadron in the Tiger Meet colours.
The watch is powered by the IWC-manufactured 69380 automatic chronograph movement, which is protected by a soft iron inner cage for resistance to magnetic fields. The 69380 caliber operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a power reserve of approximately 46 hours.
The Pilot's Watch Chronograph Staffel 11 IW3891-12 is equipped with a black rubber strap with the EasX-CHANGE® system for quick strap replacement, which is secured with a titanium buckle.
