Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon

In celebration of OMEGA’s legacy of space exploration, the Speedmaster Grey Side of the Moon features a 44.25mm case in polished and brushed grey ceramic with a plasma finish. The brushed bezel is also made from grey ceramic and features a laser-engraved tachymeter scale filled with white Super-LumiNova. Beneath the sapphire crystal front, OMEGA’s connection to the Moon is celebrated by a specially decorated movement that is laser-engraved on the main plate and bridges to represent the surface of the Moon. The near side can be seen on the skeleton grey anodized aluminium dial, while the far side can be seen through the caseback. The design includes a small seconds display at 9 o’clock, a 30-minute recorder at 3 o’clock and a 12-hour recorder at 6 o’clock. The Moonwatch-style hands and beveled hour markers are grey and filled with white Super-LumiNova (green emission). The specially decorated movement is the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3869, while the engraving on the caseback includes the quote THE MOON IS ESSENTIALLY GREY, attributed to Command Module Pilot Jim Lovell during the Apollo 8 mission. The watch is worn on a grey rubber strap with a lunar surface motif on the underside, a ceramic folding clasp and ceramised titanium springs.
